Costa Rica is as beautiful as the pictures make it look. We only got to visit one part as it was a very last minute and quick trip. We stayed in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste. This location was perfect for us as there weren’t many tourists in this location. There were other hotels nearby but the beach did not seem crowded with tourists. Many of the people on the beach seemed like locals.

We stayed at Hotel Bosque Del Mar and it is a beautiful property. I felt like we were in the jungle but on the beach. They have great amenities and the property never felt crowded. Below is what they have on the property:

  1. Pool and Jacuzzi

  2. Spa

  3. Beach Loungers

  4. Bar

  5. Restaurant

  6. Breakfast is included

  7. Tour Company on site

  8. Free parking (recommend renting a car)

  9. Standard Room includes two queen beds and a living room.

Where we stayed

Rio Celeste with a Baby

I wanted to hike a waterfall so badly while in Costa Rica. I found a tour company that made me feel like it was possible. They didn’t give exact numbers of how long the hikes were. However, I am here to tell you that it is possible.

Rio Celeste is about 2 miles from the entrance to the waterfall. You do have to walk down 253 steps to reach the bottom of the waterfall. If you want to swim in the water, you do have to hike further up and it is up hill. Keep in mind that if it is raining very hard the water will not be the vibrant blue color. We were told that it is rare that when the sun is shining for the water to be so vibrant. We traveled at the beginning of February and did not get any rain.
